Die beiden Künstlerinnen bekommen vom H8H für ihre Ausstellung eine Carte Blanche und werden den gesamten Raum installativ und performativ bespielen. Wir dürfen alle auf das Ergebnis gespannt sein! Es wird die umfangreichste und konzentrierteste Präsentation der beiden Künstlerinnen bisher in Frankfurt und in Deutschland. Die beiden Künstlerinnen selbst sagen folgendes:
“In Liaozhai Zhiyi, many stories tell of a young scholar who falls in love with a beautiful woman who later turns out to be a ghost or a spirit. Although she is not human, she is kind, loyal, and deeply emotional. The scholar treats her with sincerity instead of fear. Through love and moral behavior, they overcome social prejudice and supernatural barriers. These stories explore the idea that true virtue and love matter more than the boundary between humans and spirits. n these stories, reflection functions as a crucial element that exposes the true self hidden beneath outward appearances.
Through reflective surfaces such as mirrors or flowing water, the illusion of humanity dissolves and the spirit’s real nature is revealed. What makes these moments especially powerful is their setting: scenes of quiet beauty and calm are charged with an unsettling tension, as if something unseen is about to surface. This contrast between serenity and unease creates a haunting and aerie atmosphere.”
